In the summer of 1937, a chance meeting on the French Riviera between Fouquet and a young American student named John F. Kennedy inspired what would become Eight & Bob. Captivated by the scent Fouquet wore, Kennedy requested a sample, which arrived the next morning accompanied by a note:

Kennedy’s enthusiasm sparked the creation of eight additional samples, plus one “for Bob.” Fouquet carefully selected elegant bottles and commissioned matching boxes—designed to reflect the shirt Kennedy wore during their meeting. These secreted bottles, hidden in books when shipped to America, were the origin of the name Eight & Bob. Today, the Original Eau de Parfum continues this legacy, presented in a book-style box that pays homage to its intriguing history.
